Do you have to be friends with your co-workers?

I think that working with someone does not mean that we have to become friends. I think having a good relationship with our co-workers is important, but it is not a reason to which we need to become friends with them. Although, our jobs is a place to work and not to get distracted by our co-workers, people can still make friends.I think that in a workplace it allows the workers to meet new people and have relationships. Also, in a workplace environment, people can make new acquaintances, but it is not a reason to become friends with them. However, a workers’ main priority is their job not making friends or making relationships.

  1. Liliana, although I agree with you in the fact that just because you work somewhere and have work relationships doesn't mean that you have to become friends with them. But if you have a lot of coworkers it is quite common for a few friendships to bloom! I know that has happened to me in every job I have had!

  2. I agree with you on this but we can not work if you do not talk to our colleagues in the job, cannot become friends, but we can only talk to some.

  4. I think it is ok to become friends with co-workers, mainly because it is most of the time inevitable. However, it is important to make sure that the relationship does not get out of hand to the point where it could affect job performance.

  7. I actually agree with what your stating that you don't need to be friends with the ones you work with. My main priority would just be working and not getting in trouble not making friends.
